What to Bring & How to Prepare
Before your session for the little ones - pack a bag with snacks, water, and any small objects that might help me get their attention when it’s time for them to look at the camera.
If your kids are old enough to understand you, it’s a good idea to prepare them for what’s to come before the session starts. Explain how much the photos mean to you, so they know to be on their best behavior. A lot of families discuss and pick something fun in advance as a treat after the session if they’re good listeners.
It also helps if their bellies are full and if they’ve had some good rest beforehand. Once you prepare them physically and mentally, then feel free to give them (and you!) grace! They’re little, and I know that some days don’t always go as planned. I've seen it all and will make sure to get you great photos, regardless of their moods. My goal is to make this as fun and stress-free as it possibly can be for you and your family!
Pack a little extra lipstick to reapply right before photos. A little extra lipstick goes a long way! I also suggest packing a hairbrush in case it is windy and extra shoes for walking to the location if the ground is wet. I will be bringing in my Mary Poppins bag, blankets, lollipops, and a few toys for the little ones as well!
A Quick Checklist
Here is a quick checklist for you when walking out the door -
- Outfits steamed & ready (maybe change littles into their outfit at the last second upon arriving)
- Snack and water
- Any toys you know will get your littles to smile. (I'll have some too!)
- A change of shoes if the ground is wet and you need to walk to the location.
- Extra lipstick and hairbrush
- Dog leash
- Grace and patience for you, your husband and your kids. :)
- Trust in me!
Arriving On time
Mini sessions are quick, fun, and scheduled back-to-back — which means timing is everything! Each time slot is 15 minutes long, so it's super important that we start right on time. Please plan ahead for traffic, outfit changes, or any last-minute hiccups so we don’t feel rushed. I recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early to give yourself a buffer and settle in before we get started. I’ve got several families booked for the day, and being on time helps me keep everything running smoothly and ensures I can give everyone the attention they deserve.
What If It Rains?
If the weather turns and is looking iffy, you can expect to hear from me as soon as possible. In the case that we need to reschedule, I will do my best to find a new date that works best for you and your family. I know it takes a lot of time to get ready for your photoshoot, and I do not want you to get dressed up and drive out to your session only to have it rain. If the weather looks like it won’t be great, I typically try to make the call the night before the shoot.
Pups -
Pups always welcome! Please bring a leash and have a space ready for them to be run back to the car or tied up for the shots we will get without the dog.

Quick FAQs
Q: What if we’re running late?
I’ll do my best to get as many photos as we can in your remaining time slot, but unfortunately, I can’t extend sessions since they’re booked back-to-back.
Q: Can we bring grandparents or extended family?
Mini sessions are designed for immediate family only due to time limits. For extended family photos, I recommend booking a different type of session!
Q: Can we do an outfit change?
Due to the short time slot, there isn’t time for full outfit changes during minis — but feel free to bring layering pieces (jackets, hats, scarves) to change up the look.
Mini sessions are short but sweet, and with a little prep, they can be super smooth and maybe even a little fun! ;)
My goal is always to make things easy, relaxed, and joyful for your family — no matter what the day brings. Thank you so much for trusting me with your memories. I can't wait to photograph your beautiful family!
